One sprite in, a whole set of juiced animations out.

SpriteJolt takes a single static sprite (or a sprite sheet) and generates animations you would otherwise have to draw frame by frame: breathing idle, squash-and-stretch jump, hit flash, hurt recoil, bouncy hop, spin, dissolve, teleport glitch, flag wave, pickup sparkle, outline pulse, ghost fade and more. Every effect is a slider, every result is exported as a ready-to-use sprite sheet.

Try it right here in the browser (demo above: exports a watermarked GIF). The full version adds all export formats, bigger sprites and batch processing, and runs offline on Windows, macOS, Linux or in any browser.

What you get

  • 24 stackable effects in four groups: motion (bob, sway, breathe, pulse, jump, hop, wobble, lean, spin, shake, pop in, fade, blink), colour (hit flash, tint), surface (outline, drop shadow, ground shadow that shrinks as the sprite rises, glow) and distortion (wave, dissolve, slices).
  • 16 presets to start from, then tweak every slider with a live preview.
  • Pixel-art mode: no smoothing, whole-pixel movement, hard-edged glow and shadows. Switch it off for HD art.
  • Exports: sprite sheet PNG + Aseprite-compatible JSON, animated GIF with transparency, Godot 4 SpriteFrames (.tres) that drops straight into an AnimatedSprite2D, Unity grid info, separate frames.
  • Sprite sheet input: auto-detects cells separated by transparent gaps, or slice by grid / cell size.
  • Batch: apply the same effect stack to dozens of sprites in one go and get one ZIP with a folder per sprite.
  • Projects: save and reload your effect stacks as small JSON files.
  • Deterministic: shake, dissolve and slices use seeds, so the same settings always give the same frames.

Why not just animate by hand?

You still should, for your hero's walk cycle. SpriteJolt is for the other 90%: the 40 enemies that need a hit reaction, the pickups that should bob and sparkle, the UI icons that need a "selected" pulse, the placeholder art that needs to feel alive in a prototype today.

Works with

Godot 4 (native SpriteFrames export), Unity (sheet + grid info), GameMaker, Construct, Defold, Phaser, Pico-8-style workflows, Aseprite (JSON format), or anything that reads a sprite sheet.
